About the Course
This course will provide an introduction to all aspects of timber management for gamebirds (eastern wild turkey, northern bobwhite, American Woodcock, waterfowl). The primary goal is to focus on the relationship between intensive forest management, gamebird habitat requirements and gamebird ecology.
Who Should Attend?
This class is appropriate for both natural resource professionals working in consulting, industry, government or non-profit organizations and private landowners and land managers interested in expanding their wildlife management options.
Instructor
Dr. Mark McConnell is the Wildlife Specialist at the University of Georgia Daniel B. Warnell School of Forest Resources. Dr. McConnell’s research focusing on the ecology and management of gamebirds in both forested and agricultural systems. His extension program targets training private foresters and landowners on the most cost-efficient wildlife management solutions based on the most current and reliable scientific evidence.
Registration Fee
The course fee is $295.00, which includes lunch, refreshment breaks, and instructional materials. There is a $50.00 discount for fees paid and postmarked by October 24, 2018.

A block of rooms has been set aside at the Wingate by Wyndham (706-481-8849), 2650C Center West Parkway, Augusta, GA for the nights of November 13-14, 2018 for attendees of Forest Management for Gamebirds.
