Purpose
Increasingly, private landowners are developing deer management programs on their properties. However, a successful deer management program requires an understanding of deer ecology, behavior, and habitat requirements.
This course will focus on providing an overview of white-tailed deer ecology and provide guidelines toward the application of sound principles for the management of deer on private lands in the Southeast.
This course will answer questions such as:
- How can I improve my timber stands for deer?
- What are the best options for deer food plots?
- How do predators and diseases affect my deer herd?
- How can I determine how many deer I have on my property?
….and many more.
Who Will Benefit?
This short course will be valuable to forestry professionals, including consultants and forest managers, forest landowners interested in wildlife management on their lands, and deer enthusiasts.
